What kind of assistance can I anticipate throughout the bootcamp?

Your mentor: A professional, industry expert will provide regular 1:1 support and accountability in a 30-minute video call at your convenience.

Career coaches: Your career coach will assist you with interview practice, resume refinement, developing job hunting techniques, and more. 

Community TAs: Teaching assistants provide comprehensive feedback on projects and are available if you ever get stuck on an assignment. 

Lastly, your classmates: Collaborate on projects, form study groups, and get feedback from your peers along the way! 

How can I get a certificate of completion?

Upon graduating from either bootcamp, you will earn a certificate of completion from University of Massachusetts Global’s School of Extended Education. 

Are bootcamps delivered online or in person?

UMass Global bootcamps are delivered fully online. All you need is a connection to the internet. 

Are bootcamps part-time or full-time?

Our asynchronous bootcamps are designed to be completed on your own schedule, with students typically spending 15-20 hours per week on the programs.

Depending on the program, students typically finish in six to nine months.

Bootcamps are designed for you to complete on your own schedule and are asynchronous. 

Since our programs are flexible, you have the option to spend more time per week and finish faster than average with the continued aid of our support teams.

Do I need to purchase software to complete the bootcamp?

Tuition covers any tools required to complete our bootcamps successfully.

Cyber Security Bootcamp FAQs

How long does this bootcamp take?

It takes time and effort to become a cybersecurity specialist. We've developed a curriculum that will teach you what you need to know in order to get hired. The length of each student's course will differ, as it is entirely flexible. We anticipate that the vast majority of students will be finished in 6 months working approximately 10-15 hours per week. 

How does the admissions process work?

We accept applicants on a rolling basis, but spots are limited. Our application process has multiple steps, and new cohorts of students start the bootcamp monthly.  

1. An enrollment advisor will call you for an interview 

We’ll reach out for a fit interview if your application and profile meet admission standards. You’ll receive a phone call from either a local area code or a 415 area code. You must complete the fit interview to receive provisional acceptance. 

2. Take the technical skills survey

We'll send you a pre-program survey through email to determine any knowledge gaps before the program begins in parallel with your fit interview. It takes about 1/2 hour to complete this survey, and you should plan to complete it within 24 hours. 

3. Secure your seat

We are a selective program. If you're selected, we'll send you an e-mail registration link to complete within 24 hours. At this point, you’ll decide on your start date and payment method, you’ll complete your student profile, and you will then be officially enrolled and eligible to be matched with your industry mentor!

How soon can I get hired in the cybersecurity industry?

The course's last module explores career components in detail. In this module, you'll learn how to design a successful job search method, develop your network, create a cybersecurity resume and LinkedIn profile, practice mock technical and behavioral interviews, debrief after real job interviews, and negotiate your compensation one-on-one with your career coach. We anticipate you will be able to get a cybersecurity position within six months after completing the bootcamp.

What are the admission requirements?

To be accepted into the bootcamp, you must have strong English proficiency and be 18 years of age or older. All backgrounds are welcome, but you need to demonstrate strong analytical skills and determination to complete all bootcamp activities.

The final component of the course is 60 hours of technical interview preparation, which includes in-depth whiteboarding and coding preparation.


It typically takes students a few months after completing the bootcamp to land interviews and ultimately switch jobs.  

What are the admission requirements?

  • Applicants with existing skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript can test into an accelerated Core version of the curriculum.

UI/UX Design Bootcamp FAQs

How long does this course take?

While the course length will vary depending on each student’s pacing; most students finish the course, and are job-ready, after 9 months of working roughly 10 hours per week. It is possible to finish sooner if you:

  • Possess a high proficiency in design thinking

  • Have more time per week to devote to the curriculum

  • Manage your time and study schedule efficiently

Our application process evaluates your visual skills, analytical thinking, and ability to empathize with users to synthesize and generate ideas. Don’t worry if your answers aren’t perfect, we simply want to get to better know your instincts in each of these areas.

You must also demonstrate English fluency which will be determined by the admissions team.

There are only three steps to get started on your journey to becoming a UI/UX designer:
